Product Description
Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi was an Italian opera composer. Verdi was born near Busseto to a provincial family of moderate means, and developed a musical education with the help of a local patron.
Verdi completed his Requiem Mass in April 1874 and conducted the first performance on May 22, 1874, at the church of San Marco in Milan.
Viva la Verdi is a medley of " Greatest Hits " from the Requiem. The instrumentation consists of double brass quintet plus timpani and bass drum. ( Flugelhorn is preferred for the first trumpets solo.)
It would be an ambitious undertaking for an excellent college or professional group but the rewards are many. This is a beautiful piece of music and the power of the brass ensemble is needed to convey both the intensity and peace of the Requiem Mass.
