Product Description
This arrangement of Beethoven's Ode to Joy is for young players, possibly even for the first concert. It is also a great opportunity to start players in chamber music at a young age. It could be used for a flexible instrumentation situation, then let the students break into chamber ensembles to perform. This is a very basic arrangement that can also help get them hooked on the classics!
The music fits within the first octave and range for young players that they learn through most beginning band books. In order to perform the tune to it's fullest extent, you need an SSATB instrumentation, parts 1-5.
Parts 1 & 2 - Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Trumpet, Bells, Alto Sax, Soprano Sax
Part 3 - Clarinet, Alto Sax, French Horn
Part 4 - Trombone, Baritone, Bassoon, Tenor Sax, Bass Clarinet
Part 5 - Tuba, Bari Sax, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon (if they have the range)
There is also optional percussion parts for the arrangement (snare drum, bass drum, tambourine)
