An arrangement of the art song Death and the Maiden by Franz Schubert, for soprano voice and classical guitar, or any other voice range that fits this song.   The song presents the grim visage of Death visiting a girl much too young to be dying, who is understandably horrified and afraid and appeals to Death to pass her by. Death however offers a consoling voice, saying he is not come to chasten but offers rest in his "fond arms". A beautiful but somber song and I feel the classical guitar accompaniment, especially with its low D tuning for the sixth string, adds a special touch of poignancy.
