Product Description

Hans Leo Hassler, a noted composer and organist of the late 16th and early 17th centuries, was quite innovative. "Ad Dominum Cum Tribularer Clamavi" ("I Cried to the Lord When I Was Troubled") is a dark but strong piece. Like most of Hassler's work, it was written to be suitable in either the Lutheran or Catholic churches of his time. Two of the most memorable melodies in this imitative polyphony contain large snippets of ascending or descending chromatic scales, a characteristic which will fascinate those in your audience with musical experience. Arranged for brass quintet (two Bb trumpets, French horn, trombone, and tuba). Includes world parts (horn in Eb, trombone in Bb TC, tuba in Eb TC, and tuba in Bb TC). Performance time is approximately 2:30. Visit our website, www.tootsuitebrasspublishing.com, for a catalog of our arrangements available through sheetmusicplus.com.
