Pete Wendling worked as a "plugger" for the great Tin Pan Alley publishing house "Waterson, Snyder, and Berlin" for many years. It may have been there that he was inspired by Berlin's hit "Alexander's Ragtime Band" to compose "Alexander's Back from Dixie With His Rag-time Band," a delightful, light tribute to the original.
