Simple arrangement of this well-known and loved tune, first known as "The Braes of Balquhither". The original lyrics were penned by the poet Robert Tannahill, who was apprenticed as a silk weaver to his father, and became known as the "weaver poet". His poem was adapted and recorded as "Wild Mountain Thyme"by Francis McPeake in the 1950's.
