At Christmas time, what better way of spending a winters evening than pouring some Christmas cheer, and enjoying some Christmas pleasure in the form of this "athletic duet" reworking of the traditional Christmas Carol "Zither Carol" ("Girls and Boys, Leave your Toys,"). I hope you are good at counting (and changing seats)! Lots of time signature changes between 2/4 and 3/4 in this quirky little piece, including a section where one player is clearly in 2/4 and the other in 3/4, but it all works out in the end. (Incidentally, the seat change is optional, but fun!). This is one of a series of variations on Christmas Carols for 2 pianos 4 hands (also available in piano duet versions). Please have a look at my other duets and 2 piano music too. All of the pieces have been written specifically to be fun to play, and in different styles.
