At Christmas time, what better way of spending a winter's evening than getting 2 pianos / keyboards together, pouring yourselves some Christmas cheer, and enjoying some two piano Christmas pleasure in the form of this reworking of the beautiful carol "God Rest You Merry Gentlemen". After playing this one, I hope you will take a look at my other music for 4 hands (including some more carol variations) too. This piece is one of a series for 2 pianos, and consists of 4 variations (NB duet versions of the pieces are also available for those who don't have 2 pianos! - visit www.simonpeberdymusic.com), the last of which is a short fugue. You dont need to be be fantastic pianists; it is hoped that this will bring some joy for any who are fortunate to have 2 pianos, and if youve only got one, then borrow a keyboard from the neighbours and use that. Its Christmas after all!
