Product Description

BATTLE CRY OF FREEDOM- Spirited "rallying" song of the North. Medium-hard. Easy meter changes. Written by George Root in 1862. Upon hearing this song for the first time on a rainy night after a day of battle, a Confederate major wrote, "I tell you that song to me sounded like the "knell" of doomit has been an uphill fight with me ever since that night". Although the song has remained in our patriotic conscience, a notable occasion of it's playing was on April 14, 1865 at Fort Sumter as the "Stars and Stripes" was raised again.
