"The One and Only" is a song written by Nik Kershaw and sung by the British singer Chesney Hawkes. It featured in the 1991 film Buddy's Song, where Hawkes played the eponymous role of Buddy Clark and Roger Daltrey of The Who played his father. Although the film didnt do too badly ay the box office, the song became a hit in the UK, spending five weeks at number one in March and April 1991.
The song was used in the film Doc Hollywood, after which it, again, became a hit in the US. It has also featured in the films L.A. Slasher, Moon (where it is used as the wake-up alarm for the main character), Source Code (where it is used as the ringtone) and Mute.
