Product Description
Released in August 1988 by Arista Records as the first single from The 1988 Summer Olympics Album: One Moment
in Time, "One Moment in Time" is sung by Whitney Houston and peaked at
number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming her 10th top 10
hit (spending 17 weeks on the chart). Globally, it was a big hit, reaching
number 1 in the UK and German Singles Chart and getting into the top 5 in Austria,
Belgium, Italy, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland, and reached top 10 in France
and the Netherlands. Following Whitney Houston's death, Entertainment Weekly
published a list of her 25 best songs and ranked it number 14.
The song was written by John Bettis and Albert Hammond. Its melody was
inspired by Elvis Presley, and features alongside performances by other artists
such as The Four Tops, The Bee Gees, Eric Carmen, Taylor Dayne and the film
composer John Williams. The video for the song is a basic collage of clips from
previous Olympic ceremonies.
This arrangement is for the UK-style brass band. A recording of the
