This arrangement conveys the text written by Horatio Spafford in 1873. His life had seen much trouble including business losses and losing his 4 year old son to scarlet fever. At the time this hymn was written, he had just lost his four daughters in a tragic accident at sea. In the midst of his pain, he was able to find comfort in his faith in God's love.
