Product Description

This collection of five traditional Spirituals is taken from a larger set of eleven titled The Life of Christ in Spirituals which I wrote as a cantata for my church choir and guest soprano, flute and trumpet soloists many years ago. Scripture passages were read before each Spiritual, providing the Biblical context. Included in this set are Ride On, King Jesus, He Never Said A Mumblin' Word, Sinner, Please Don't Let This Harvest Pass, Calvary and "Twas On A Sunday Morning. With themes from Palm Sunday to the Resurrection, they can be performed as a set, or at services throughout Holy Week. In this booklet a two page bulletin insert with lyrics and Scripture references is provided after the instrumental parts. The recording of the first song was by a youth choir. Please contact me for recordings of the other songs. A second booklet containing the remaining six Spirituals is planned. More information on my music may be found on my website, www.evelynlartermusic.com or on my Facebook page for Evelyn Larter Music
