Product Description

In 1939, Marks' brother-in-law, Robert L. May, created the character Rudolph as an assignment for Montgomery Ward, and Marks decided to adapt the story of Rudolph into a song. Later May got the rights to the song and Marks finally convinced Gene Autry to record it in 1949, after Bing Crosby turned it down. Autry didn't want to record it as he was a cowboy song singer and really wasn't interested. Fortunately, his wife liked it and got him to do it. It became his best seller and as a result her recorded Frosty the Snowman the next year. So much for cowboy songs !  You can find my arrangement of Frosty the Snowman on Sheet Music Plus as well. Happy playing.
