Product Description

Performance Notes:
"Expresso" is a lively piece that is short but sweet. It was originally composed for a woodwing quintet in 1999, but has been reworked multiple times before reaching its current setting. The name comes from a play on the words "Espresso" and "Express". The idea came to me as after watching the movement of someone's coffee in their cup one day as it spun around.

Rehearsal Notes:
Keeping a solid tempo is of utmost importance to the work. As a group becomes more comfortable, they can certainly push the tempo faster and faster. The point at which it is the clearest and the fastest is the perfect tempo; don't sacrifice clarity for speed or vice versa.

Instrumentation:
This setting of "Expresso" is set for Expandable Flute Choir. There are a total of eight parts. Only Flutes 1 through 4 are required. The Piccolo, 5th Flute, Alto Flute, and Bass Flute parts are completely optional and can be added in any order.
