Product Description

Composed in 1913, I Love You, California was adopted as the official STATE SONG in 1951 and reconfirmed in 1987. The lyrics are by Francis Beatty Silverwood (1863-1924), a Los Angeles clothier, and the music by Alfred V. Frankenstein (1873-1934).  It is used officially at funerals of California governors, most recently at the funeral of Ronald Regan. It was also played at Regan's inauguration as governor after which he quipped, "Thanks for singing a song old enough to make me feel young."

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
