Product Description

Silent Night is a popular Christmas carol composed by Franz Xavier Gruber in 1818 with lyrics by Joseph Mohr. In 2011, Silent Night was declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an intangible cultural heritage.

Vocal quintet Pentatonix first arranged for a ccapella and now transcribed for wind quintet consisting of flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon. This arrangement is especially quiet and delicate, portraying stillness, hopefulness and peacefulness of Silent Night.

Wind quintets playing this arrangement could do well with a soft touch to the tone with minimal vibrato. The supporting harmony is warm, like the cuddling with your loved ones around the fireplace during winter on Christmas day.
