Product Description

The territorial anthem of Guam arranged for classical Brass Quintet, is used during local festivities and international sporting events, was written by Dr. Ramon Manalisay Sablan, the islands first medical doctor of Chamorro (the indigenous people of Guam) background, and an outspoken Chamorro rights activist. Written in English and adopted in 1919 during a time when Chamorro language and culture were suppressed, the lyrics in the local language of Chamoru were written in 1974 during a resurgence of Chamorro pride of identity.

When played at official occasions it is always preceded by "The Star Spangled Banner", as Guam remains a territory of the United States.
