For more versatility, the viola part of Oh, the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus can also be performed by a second violin and the dramatic second verse features a hammered dulcimer inspired melodic line that adds intensity to this haunting Celtic melody and requires virtuosic playing from in all three parts. In It Is Well With My Soul, the lyrical melody of the violin is complemented by the cello accompaniment in the style of Bach's first Cello Suite. Both arrangements are suitable for concerts and recitals.
