Product Description
This arrangement is part of the Chicago Gargoyle Brass and Organ Ensemble Signature Series.
Chaconne is the final movement of Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004, for solo violin.
While many agree that Chaconne is a masterpiece for violin, it can certainly be
argued that it is also among the greatest pieces of music ever written.
Since Bach's time, several transcriptions of the piece have been made for other instruments, including inspired versions by
Ferruccio Busoni (piano) and William Thomas Best (organ). This new arrangement, for brass quintet and organ, draws inspiration
from both the Busoni and Best transcriptions.
This demanding arrangement showcases the full color and dynamic range of the organ and each brass instrument, from delicate solo passages to heart-pounding power as brass and organ join forces.
Perfect for any recital, concert or pops program. This arrangement is scored for brass quintet and organ. Trumpet parts are provided in both B-flat and C. Trumpet 1 requires a mute and goes up to high B-flat (concert) once.
