Product Description

Whitney, 1842-1914, was a celebrated American organist. A founding member of the American Guild of Organists, he served as organist at Church of the Advent in Boston for 36 years and taught organ at the New England Conservatory. Whitney was an important figure for the composition and performance of nineteenth-century American organ music. This march, originally for solo organ, has been arranged to incorporate the additional color and power of brass, to dynamic effect. A spectacular processional, and a wonderful example of American organ music. Suitable for a concert or any church service. Performance time, about 10 minutes (8 minutes if you skip repeats).
