This piece is arranged for wind trio; flute, oboe and clarinet, with the clarinet having the melody. The clarinet part can alternatively be played on bass clarinet if one is available. This piece is about about the Drop Bear, a mythical Australian animal, with its origin unknown. It probably comes from the idea that Australia has many dangerous animals, and koalas do have quite sharp claws they can use if need be. If dehydrated they can drop from trees. The drop bear is said to be bigger than a usual koala, and is a carnivorous animals that can drop from high branches on unsuspecting animals.  Here, the Drop Bear, is evil but also a cool dude riding the branches and flying through the air.
