This is a medley of the hymns Near the Cross and Nearer My God to Thee in advanced intermediate level for piano solo. The LH begins with a simple ostinato pattern and a single melody line. In a later verse the RH uses 3-4 note chords and LH arpeggios. (To simplify the RH, leave off the lowest note of a 4 note chord, and the lower note of octaves.) The intro/interlude consists of 6th in the RH and creates a beautiful, haunting melody. Helpful fingering is added.
