From Book 1 of Brahms's Hungarian Danced (Published in 1869). Hungarian Dance No. 5 is probably to most well-known of the set of 21. This dance was based on the csárdás by Béla Kéler (1820-1882) titled "Bártfai emlék" which Brahms mistakenly thought was a traditional folksong. It is scored for traditional concert band and transposed up a semitone to G minor.
