Product Description
Despite being a New Yorker at the time, actually the year 2001 was an excellent year for me. I had the opportunity to take a grand tour to the wonderful country of Brazil which I had always dreamed about. I can say it didn't disappoint. Before computers could imitate an orchestra well, I bought in Salvador many Brazilian instruments and carted them back home. This piece for jazz orchestra was the beginning of my personal "renaissance" as a composer, and here it is, all shiny and new and revised. The piece begins with a fast Samba, slows to mysterious calls of the rainforest, travels through Rio's "bossa nova" and ends with a bang. Great, serious piece for jazz concert.
