Based on the classic children's bedtime prayer, "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep," this song was written in the 18th century and attributed to Joseph Addison (The Spectator, 1711). It may be used as a sweet lullaby. for a baby dedication, christening, or even as a song of remembrance in the service of a child that left us too early.
