Vieuxtemps' "Variations on Yankee Doodle" (Souvenir d'Amerique) has been a staple of virtuoso violin encores for almost 200 years. Now it is available for solo cello or viola. All the flash, fireworks, and special techniques of the original, and no piano accompaniment is needed. The key has been changed, some harmonies have been modified to better fit the instrument, and two variations were removed because they didn't fit in a stand-alone solo.

This is a very challenging piece, but it is well worth the practice time to blow away your audience at your next concert!
