Sempre Legato is an arpeggio study for the left hand. Written specifically for a "1, 5, 8, 9, 10" or "do,sol, do, re, mi" pattern, most, if not all, variations of white and black keys are covered. Above the steady legato arpeggio pattern, the right hand plays a flowing single voice melody. This simplicity allows the player to focus upon expressive nuances of tempo and dynamics, creating an etude that is not only an excellent practice piece, but also a lovely recital selection.
