How could the Savior of the world Have knelt in pain for me?
How could He bow and suffer To endure Gethsemane?
Why was He destined to become The only offring there?
Why did He show such willingness To grant me Godly care?
How many drops of crimson blood Were spilled in my own name?
How many tears were shed for me? And each child was the same.
How much did my sins weigh upon His weathered, broken heart?
Why would He volunteer his life, For me to be a part?
Why did He not forsake the cross When misery was real?
Why would He let this agony Be what He chose to feel?
How did He conquer evil there While anguish never slept?
What caused His final triumph then, As some around Him wept?
As Jesus suffered willingly Love flowed from every pore.
When in the sacred Garden place Love unlocked every door.
Then on to Calvrys dusty cross Our Savior paid full price.
Thus love, pure love, his Godly love Made Him the perfect Christ.
O, only Love survived the cross In that momentous hour.
And only Love remains today With great atoning power.
Only love is shown by Him With overflowing care.
Only love He gives to all; Pure loves the gift He shares.
