Verse 1
Learned men through every age
Have argued over truth.
Creeds and concepts clamouring,
Strife of words concerned a youth.
Still he sought to do what's right,
Confused by differing voices.
Thus he studied scripture seeking truth;
To the book of James he turned.
CHORUS
If a man lacks wisdom then he should ask of God
For He will answer liberally and He will not upbraid.
Never had a scripture entered into heart of man
As this one entered into Joseph's heart.
He would ask the truth of God.
Verse 2
Never had the boy prayed aloud,
Unsure of what to say.
James wrote let him ask in faith,
Nothing wavering to know His Word,
For God is listening
And will answer fervent petitions.
Joseph knew if he could ask in faith
All God's promises were sure.
CHORUS
