The Gospel Train is an African-American spiritual published in 1872 as a songs of the Fisk Jubilee Singers.
This arrangement is an Intermediate Piano Solo that musically pictures the gospel train as an old-fashioned wooden train behind a small, early steam engine pulling up a hill into view then rattling by and disappearing across the ridge. It is a light and lively version appropriate for both sacred and secular occasions.
