Jacob's Ladder is an African-American spiritual. This arrangement for early intermediate piano combines two very different versions. The first is taken from Slave Songs of the United States, first published in 1867, which suggests that this version originated on plantations in Florida. The second version is well-known and found in numerous main stream hymnals starting in the early 20th Century.
