Product Description
Kandels Hora is a Jewish dance tune, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for one Clarinet and one Violin.
Kandels Hora was written and named after Harry Kandel. Born in Lvov, and after a short period in the Russian army, Kandel emigrated to the USA in 1905 and quickly found work as a clarinettist in vaudeville, Buffalo Bills Wild West Show and JP Sousas band. A brief but productive period as band-leader and recording artist followed, after which Kandel retired from performing to run a music shop.
Kandels Hora is arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. A slow Hora in triple meter is followed by a faster Freylach version of the same melody in 4. Kandels Hora is suitable for players at an advanced intermediate level and above. With a performance time of three minutes, this version of Kandels Hora is perfect for concert performances, both formal and informal.
