Product Description

Probably the best known of Scott Joplins piano rags, The Entertainer was written in 1902. It was included on Joshua Rifkins famous 1970 revival recording of Joplins music and an orchestration featured on the soundtrack of the movie The Sting in 1973. This arrangement won an Oscar and reached No.3 on the US single charts.

This version has been arranged as a duet for two Alto Saxophones and includes all four sections of the original composition. The full length youtube performance and the short audio sample are both from the Alto Saxophone version of this arrangement.

Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The overall performance time is around five minutes.

Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with phrasing, syncopated rhythms and light articulation.
