Product Description

Bridge Over Troubled Water, by Paul Simon, was the last song written for the last Simon and Garfunkel album. It was a huge worldwide hit in 1970, selling six million copies and winning several Grammies. Yet the song nearly wasnt released as a single at all; radio stations at the time rarely played songs longer than three minutes and Bridge Over Troubled Water came in at five. This version is arranged as a duet for two Clarinets.

Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performances, with plenty of opportunity for expressive playing and dynamic contrast. The overall performance time is around four and a half minutes. The short sample audio is from the Clarinet and Alto Saxophone version while the full-length youtube performance is the Clarinet Duet.

Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with ensemble skills. There are some challenging syncopated rhythms, though knowing the original song well will help.
