Based on the first piece I wrote for my friends and me in the self-styled "European trio". This is based on Trio No 1 (originally for trumpet, violin and piano) back in 1969

(a recording still exists, if anyone would like to hear it!).

It was only 44 years later that I decided to revisit the piece and recreated it for the flute, viola and harp combination, which seems to have a better balance.
