Product Description
This is a "she-woop-de-wop" version of Thomas Morley's madrigal "Though Philomela lost her love"
The arrangement was made on scraps of paper by Richard McHale by special request for performance at the final dinner and
celebration at an early music course.
I later transcribed it from the scraps of paper and, with Richard's permission, am uploading it here
If you would like to perform this alongside the Morley original, several frees scores of that are available at:
The sound sample is my own performance (as the dwschorale) - with the sections marked "improvise" duly improvised...- other improvisations are welcome!)
It can also be heard alongside the Morley original in this video:
"Philomela across the centuries"
Though Philomela lost her love,
Fresh note she warbleth, yes again
Fa la la la la.
He is a fool that lovers prove;
And leaves to sing, to live in pain.
Fa la la la la.
