Written on Sept. 6, 2015, "Fairest Lord Jesus" is a piano arrangement of the classic hymn of the faith. It is written in a simple, quiet and devotional style with some original thematic material included as well. The level is appropriate for the intermediate piano student. There is no more than a single note in each hand the whole piece with the exception of the last note. The L.H. is mostly notes of longer value with the R.H. playing the melody within a broken chord format. Appropriate for sacred setting where reverent piano music is called for. James Michael Stevens is prolific composer residing in Nashville, TN where he serves as the Music Department Chairman of Welch College.
