This piece was on Feb. 18, 2015 during a ice storm in Nashville. The Chaconne is a type of variations written over a repeated harmonic progression with many times a bass that descends by 2nds. This little piece is an etude for the use of a broken chord pattern in the right hand. A great study for an intermediate to advanced intermediate student. James Michael Stevens is a prolific composer residing in Nashville, TN where he serves as the music department chairman of Welch College.
