This arrangement is formatted for a String Quartet. The Violin 3 part is the same as the Viola part in case a Viola player is not available. The tune is the traditional American melody PLEADING SAVIOR. Though this song is known by many titles, this title, "Rainbow of His Love," corresponds to the lyrics about the rainbow by Flora Kirkland (lyrics sheet included for reference).

Violin 1 carries the melody for the first verse and then the second time through the song (after a short interlude), Violin 2 carries the melody while Violin 1 alternates between a descant and harmony. The Viola (Violin 3) and Cello parts add a simple harmony with less movement and thus easier and more suited for the less experienced string players.
