Product Description
Josef Rheinberger was a composer of fantastic organ compositions. Born in 1839, he was playing the organ in his local church in Vaduz, Liechtenstein at the age of 7. He spent his life as a piano teacher, conductor, and prolific composer.
This arrangement of Kyrie and Agnus Dei originated from one of the 8 Masses Rheinberger wrote in around 1878 for double choir. These are powerful and emotional pieces full of rich, extended chords and beautiful moving phrases. They are meant to be played with a lot of rubato.
Scored for 4 C, 2 alto, and 2 bass flutes. Optional parts are 2 contrabasses and 2 cellos that all share the bass line.
