Product Description
This awesome piece was the introduction theme to a children's show on PBS called Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood that aired from 1968 to 2001. His show was geared towards preschool children, and focused on their physical and emotional well-being. Mr. Rogers had a degree in music and wrote this song for him to sing at the beginning of each show.
In 2018, a biopic called "Won't You Be My Neighbor", that starred Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers, received critical acclaim and became the highest-grossing biographical documentary ever made. In the film, Tom Hanks sings this song just as Fred Rogers did, and brought back wonderful memories to all who remembered it.
This arrangement is easy enough for a choir with intermediate skills and would be a great opener for recitals, and will put smiles on the faces of your audience.
Scored for 2 sopranos, 2 altos, tenor, 2 baritones, and optional bass (in lieu of Bari 2).
