Product Description
Felix Mendelssohn was a German composer of the Romantic period. He was brought up as a Protestant, but you would never know after hearing this piece. This is the second movement of his Ave Maria, which is quite beautiful.
This arrangement is scored for a larger choir: 5 C flutes, Alto, 2 Basses, and Contrabass flute.
There are 3 optional parts:
1 & 2: The piccolo and Eb flute are identical to the 1st Flute part. This is to add different tonal colors to the 1st part, but also to assist with keeping the extra high notes from being too shrill.
3: The cello part is to fortify the bass line, which is important in a large choir. This part can also be played by any C instrument in bass clef, including bassoon or keyboard.
This is a beautiful piece that your audience will love.
