Product Description
This fugue is the 5th fugue in Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1, which was written for the piano, and consists of 2 sets of 24 Preludes and Fugues. I have played this many times on the piano, as it's probably one of the easiest fugues written in this collection.
The original piece was written in the key of D for 4 voices. Transposing it to the key of G puts it in a better range for the flute. The bass flute part has the most music, and if any part should be doubled, this is it.
This piece should be played marcato - quite pompous - throughout.
This would be a good encore for your recitals!
