Sonata No. 3: 1. Vivace 2. Largo 3. Gavotto Allegro 4. Sarabanda 5. Allegro 6. Largo 7. Menuet 8. Giga - Allegro

Jean-Baptiste Loeillet, a Belgian composer and instrumentalist, is known for his 12 sonatas, Op. 5, first published by Roger in Amsterdam around 1710. The set includes six sonatas for the recorder and six for the transverse flute. These sonatas are characterized by their expressive and virtuosic chamber music, combining Italian and French traits, and were strongly influenced by the violin sonatas of Corelli. They are considered significant contributions to the Baroque chamber music repertoire, showcasing Loeillet's compositional skill and stylistic influences. Loeillet spent most of his life in France serving the archbishop of Lyon, Paul-François de Neufville de Villeroy.
