Product Description

Beethoven's Piano Sonata No.14 in C# minor (Sonata quasi una Fantasia) Op.27. No.2, Mvt.1 also known as the "Moonlight Sonata" is probably the best known of his compositions.

Unlike other arrangements you will find on this site (and other sites) I have taken the unusual step of removing a large proportion of the triplet accompaniment figure, which is found in the original piano composition.
Other arrangers for brass quintet tend give this figure, as a rule, to the horn or trombone who play the triplets all the way through the piece.

I have tried to arrange it as though it had been originally written for the brass  quintet.

My arrangement retains some of the triplets (the rising arpeggios) and sometimes uses the triplets on one note to add dramatic effect.

The net result is more of a chorale, but I feel it does retain the forward movement from the original with the use of moving staccato crotchets (quarter notes)
I have transposed this arrangement into D minor from the original C sharp minor.
