The song became the band's breakthrough hit, reaching number one on the UK singles chart and establishing them as one of the top British Invasion bands of the 60's. The song's style ended up being very influential for generations of rock and punk musicians afterward, and the song has lived on in the cultural canon and is still beloved to this day. This Cellobat arrangement of "You Really Got Me" for string quartet is true to the original Kinks recording, with its driving beat, punk-rock feel, and epic solo -- which violin 1 and 2 get to share! This chart will be readable for professionals and playable for advanced-intermediate students; overall it's more of an intermediate level, with fairly straightforward rhythms and almost entirely in 1st position, but it goes by pretty fast and it might be worth it for V2 to look at the guitar solo beforehand :) and most of all, have fun!
