Product Description
Day-O (The Banana Boat Song) is a traditional Jamaican folk song, commonly classified as calypso music.
It is a work song sung from the point of view of dock workers who have finished their night shift and are loading bananas onto ships. The lyrics describe how daylight has come, their shift is over, and they want their work to be counted up so that they can go home.
This is a fun little song, both to play, and to hear -- perfect for parties, and other events. It is arranged for string quartet from your friends at Zene Strings -- enjoy!
