Product Description

Carinhoso is one of the most significant works of Brazilian popular music due to the large amount of recordings and awards. It was composed by Pixinguinha around 1917. Afterwards, Carinhoso received lyrics by the composer Braguinha, also known as João de Barro, and was recorded with great success in Brazil and abroad by several interpreters. Biography of Pixinguinha Alfredo da Rocha Viana Filho, known as Pixinguinha (1897-1973), was born in Piedade, Rio de Janeiro, on April 23, 1897. He was the son of the flutist and an employee of the General Department of Telegraphs, Alfredo da Rocha Viana and Raimunda Viana. He was a flutist, saxophonist, conductor, composer and arranger. Pixinguinha is considered one of the greatest composers of Brazilian popular music. He directly contributed to choro finding a definitive musical form.
