I recently discovered a bridge between music and mathematics. The intervals in an octave can be calculated into degrees (°) as in angles. Interval conversion formula: 3¢ /40=x° or 3 times ¢ divided by 40. ¢ - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cent_(music) Coversion of intervals and cents: http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/Music/cents.html One could even reduce the formula to simpler terms of 15x/2. Section A shows the voices ascending upwards and their interval sums add up to 90°, thus complementary. Section B shows the voices descending and again, their intervals add up 90°.
